Porte Cochere Columns

Porte Cochere Columns

Four of the porte cochere columns had significant rot and bug damage. Don Fernandez and his team at Epoxy Restoration filled each column with a high strength plastic resin, which maintains the structural integrity of the columns. The porte cochere columns were originally the cut off pieces from pier pilings that Betty Liljestrand salvaged from a friend’s yard. They are an iconic design element of the front of the house and it was critical that the columns be repaired and maintained.

What a transformative experience to view such an innovative and functional work of art that people happened to live in!
