Our new Friends of Liljestrand series invites valued supporters inside the house in a more personal and intimate way. The inaugural Friends event is particularly special: an intimate sunset tour led by Liljestrand’s own Trudy Couillard, who worked closely with the Liljestrand family for many years. Trudy brings a rare firsthand perspective on daily life at the house. Guests will enjoy an informal walk-through and hear stories not found on a standard tour. All while sipping chilled prosecco as the sun sets over Honolulu. Following the tour, Friends are invited to linger on the kitchen terrace and deck for charcuterie, Dr. Liljestrand’s favorite deviled eggs, and great conversation steeped in house lore that only Trudy could provide.

This is the first of a handful of special gatherings throughout the year available exclusively to current Friends of Liljestrand members. Each program will offer a very personal and unique experience rooted in architecture, history, design, and the lived legacy of the house.
