Preserving the Past, Enriching the Future:
A Collections Partnership Between the Liljestrand Foundation and the Huntington Library
A very special evening of presentation and conversation with Li Wei Yang, Curator of Pacific Rim Collections and Erin Chase, Associate Curator of Architecture and Photography at The Huntington Library in San Marino, California.
The Huntington Library Founded in 1919, The Huntington is one of the world’s leading independent research libraries, preserving more than 12 million manuscripts, 500,000 rare books, and 1.5 million photographs and ephemera. Home to the Liljestrand Family Papers, The Huntington will soon also steward the Liljestrand family archive documenting the Liljestrand House’s architectural history and Howard and Betty Liljestrand’s lives in Hawaiʻi and beyond. Li Wei Yang, Curator of Pacific Rim Collections, and Erin Chase, Associate Curator of Architecture and Photography, will discuss The Huntington’s mission and the importance of its collaboration with the Liljestrand Foundation in preserving this remarkable family legacy.
