Ping Pong Table

Ping Pong Table

Our beloved and much played ping pong table has gone through many changes over the years, always adhering to the original Ossipoff design. With the increase in program offerings recently, it became apparent that the staff needed an easier way to move the very heavy table out of the pavilion. Casters were not sufficient to move it over pavers and grass. Artist and fine woodworker Chris Reiner came to the rescue and built a new tabletop that is much lighter than the old top. Mark and Melinda Enomoto applied a laminate top to protect it and now we have a table that is easier to move yet remains true to the original design.

So incredibly refreshing to see a residence unmolested by unsympathetic ownership. The personal touches, stories and tales from the last 67 years provide an amazing tapestry from which we can appreciate this architectural masterpiece. May the preservation of this house inspire not only its’ preservation but also that of other modernist examples in Hawai`i. Thank you.
