Primary Bathroom Ceiling

Primary Bathroom Ceiling

Several rooms in the house have ceilings made of original acoustic tiles from 1952, which are no longer manufactured in the same size. Recently, a rodent damaged nearly half of one tile in the primary bathroom. Fortunately, Betty Liljestrand had kept extra materials from the original construction, including a small stash of these tiles. We used the last remaining one to make the repair, but not before carefully photographing it to allow for 3D printing of replacements in the future, if needed.

Painter Peter Martin completed the restoration with a couple of coats of paint on the entire bathroom ceiling—likely the first time it’s been painted since the house was built!

The views, the house, the architecture, the clients…all add up to a transcendent monument.
