About the instructor: Realizing her calling in life was yoga, Coco gave up a business career in Tokyo to pursue her passion. In 2007, after several years of consistent practice and teaching, Coco completed her 200 RYT Yoga Alliance Yoga Teacher Training and the following year she completed 300 hours of RYT Yoga Alliance training. While working on completing her certification, in 2011, Coco began advanced teacher training with Rusty Wells, founder of Bhakti Flow Yoga at CA, US. In 2012, Coco was certified by Yoga Alliance with RYT500 and soon after upgraded to E-RYT 500. The same year, Coco was named Lululemon Ambassador. Coco has been sharing her rich experience, knowledge and passion of yoga by leading yoga teacher trainings locally and internationally since 2014.

Coco combines her friendly nature and dedication with her training fundamentals in Bhakti Flow and Ashtanga Yoga to create a unique Vinyasa Power Yoga class that challenges students to build their inner core, increase flexiblity, and sweat their stress away. Coco is trilingual in English, Japanese, and Mandarin.

About the DJ: CJ gravitates towards connection. Being a yogi and movement expert, CJ finds joy in connecting yoga with music. CJ received his first 200 hour certification in Hatha Yoga (Becca Hewes, OKC – Yoga Life) in 2013. Wanting to learn more about the asana side of the practice, CJ found Patrick Beach, Carling Harps, & Awakening Yoga Academy (2nd 200 hour). He has trained with them for the past 8 years and has been a full-time yoga teacher for the past 10 years. CJ has a Masters in Exercise Science and has taught 1000+ hours of public classes and multiple workshops, retreats, and private sessions. He has filmed for multiple online platforms such as Commune Online and Just Move. He hopes to leave you with good vibes and a loving energy.

About the location: Built on the slopes of Pu’u Ohia (Mount Tantalus), overlooking Honolulu, Liljestrand House is an outstanding example of architect Vladimir Ossipoff’s work and of mid-twentieth century Hawaiian modern architecture.

The house was commissioned by Dr. Howard and Betty Liljestrand, who became fast friends with the architect. The house is now owned by the Liljestrand Foundation, whose vision is to preserve Liljestrand House, its site and archives, and make that preservation beneficial to the global community. Preservation of the house is made possible through donations and public tour and program revenues.

This home serves as more than inspiration. This magnificent work changed the way I think about my field, and I will be sure to visit again; as a student, volunteer, and as a professional.
