Deck Demolition

The first phase of the deck demolition was completed on March 1, 2022.  All of the planks and seating boards were carefully removed, exposing the joists and the steel work. Prior to demolition, Jason Henning, from SHADE Institute drafted the as-built plans. Structural engineer Ken Hayashida and Liljestrand Foundation board members and architects Joe Ferraro FAIA and Dean Sakamoto FAIA are now working to develop the plans for the steel repair and framing.
